1.If you are an expecting mom, you probably already know how important this stuff is. I used this baby formula through both of my pregnancies. I think they are great. They don't taste weird or have any after taste, and for someone who has a terrible gag reflex I never have any issues with swallowing these pills. I also continue taking these during the time I am breast-feeding.Since, so many nutrients are passed from the mother to baby during this time it is recommended to continue to take your prenatals vitamins and dha for the duration. Unfortunately I was not able to breast-feed my first due to lactation issues developed from a bad case of mastitis and I reluctantly switched to baby formula. For my second, I did not have any problems since I supplemented blessed thistle and drank mothers milk tea, highly recommended to any mothers with lactation issues - Organic Mother's Milk Tea + FREE Nature's Way Blessed Thistle (100 Capsules).
Something else to keep in mind is that a dha supplement is not a replacement for a good prenatal multivitamin. If your multi contains dha then that can be your substitute for a separate dha pill but not the other way around. I found it more economical to get the Nature Made brand (under 7 dollars at Sam's Club) and then take my dha separately....Customer said!
2.I took this infant formula during my pregnancy and during the 15 months I breast fed my daughter. I am a diabetic and worried about how that would impact my daughter's health. I did everything I could during my pregnancy to make sure she had the very best start, including eating almost exclusively organic, strict weight control and close doctor supervision. Not only was my daughter born fabulously healthy, she also went on to be seen by her pediatrician only twice in her first two years for illness (outside of well child visits, of course). I recently saw a report on the national news saying that DHA supplements like Expecta will soon become a routine/mandatory part of prenatal treatment in the US as study after study is showing that these supplements seem to be linked with children who get sick less in the early years of life (and possibly beyond). Aside from how easy this softgel is to take and how it has no side effects and no bad aftertaste (it's also FISH FREE) it's now linked to healthier babies and healthier mamas. I'm a cover-your-bases, better-safe-than-sorry kind of person and if you are too, why not do everything possible to give your baby the best start in life? Expect is wonderful and I hope more moms avail themselves of its benefits...Customer said!
